Once again this past week we’ve been busy scanning across the internet to find the latest information and Open University courses. This week we learn about part-time fee grants, living the OU dream and Amazon’s new physical bookstore. A mum has fulfilled a lifelong dream of teaching after graduating with an Open Honours degree. Lisa Smith, 42, of Edward Drive, Chelmsford, is now a trainee maths teacher at the Mayflower High School , in Billericay after five years of studying.

Amazon opens its own brick and mortar bookstore. Amazon Books, looks a lot like bookstores that populate malls across the country. Its wood shelves are stocked with 5,000 to 6,000 titles, best-sellers as well as Amazon.com customer favorites. The Huffington Post added: “Maybe Amazon has decided it can’t simply be a parasite on existing brick-and-mortar bookstores forever, especially given the risk that said stores will be driven into extinction by Amazon’s own arguably predatory pricing. ”
