Offer work perks that can incentivise your employees
From a corporate massage service to allowing employees to leave early on the last Friday of every month, there are many work perks that can help incentivize your employees. By investing in their health and wellbeing, not only will they be in a better state to work, but they’ll also feel grateful you’re prioritising this for them. It shows you care and that you want to look out for those that work for you. They’ll want to stick with an employee that cares for them and this can help to improve employee retention.
Ensure your employees know how they can progress in their careers
One of the big reasons that many employees leave a job is that they feel there’s no career progression. Most people go into a job with the goal to get better at it and progress higher through the ranks, getting pay rises and better job titles along the way. If your staff feel as if they’re stuck in their one position and not getting anything more from it, this is when they’ll likely turn to other jobs to give them the new opportunities they’re after. Speak to your employees, find out what they’re looking for in their job and communicate what they need to do to get into their dream role and progress through the company.
Get to the root of the cause
If you are finding employees leaving, you need to find out why this is. Send out an anonymous survey to find out if there are any grievances with the company or what they feel could be improved. You should also conduct an exit interview with those that do leave so you can find out what the cause is and if it’s something you can prevent from happening in the future.
These are just a few ways you can help to improve employee retention. By focusing on this, you can make the workplace nicer for everyone to be at and ensure your company progresses to new heights.
