Once again this past week we’ve been busy scanning across the internet to find the latest information and Open University courses. The greatest university on the planet (we reckon anyway) is always innovating and leading the way on many issues that affect us around the globe and these news pieces reflect just that. So if there’s a free course or bit of news on the agenda then hopefully we will pick it up and stick it on the next Open University news.
Studying is a family affair for Cwmbran mother and daughter (From South Wales Argus). A mother and daughter from Cwmbran are thought to be the first in Cardiff University’s history to have studied the same degree at the same time. “Once my children were in secondary school, I enrolled with the Open University and studied law for four years part-time while working in human resources,” said Jane Heard.

The personal investment gender gap – Open University Business School. More than 18,000 people registered for our six-week course Managing My Investments when it was presented on Future Learn in May 2015. The course focuses on investment decision-making and pension planning, and data from the start-of-course survey (completed by about 4,000 of the people who registered) provides fascinating insights into the types of people attracted to these subjects.
