Once again this past week we’ve been busy scanning across the internet to find the latest information and Open University courses. This week we look at schizophrenia, life on other planets and angry unions. Remember, if there’s a free course or bit of news on the agenda then hopefully we will pick it up and stick it on the next Open University news.
A man who has lived with schizophrenia for most of his life has vowed to challenge media stereotypes of the illness. Despite the long struggle Andrew has had with schizophrenia, he managed to achieve a BA (Hons) degree from the Open University in politics in 1993 and an MA in social policy from Brighton University in 1998.

ANGRY union officials have accused the Open University of a clampdown on protests against job cuts. Last month it was announced that almost 500 jobs at the institution were at risk across seven of its centres in England, including 90 in Oxford, according to unions.
