Whether you’re just starting out in your career or you’re looking for something new, finding a job that’s rewarding can be amazing. Many of the most rewarding jobs require a lot of hard work, but it’s worth it to see the difference that you can make. Try these sectors if you’re looking for a rewarding career.

Medicine

Working in medicine is one of the first things people tend to think of if they’re considering rewarding careers. But it’s not just patient-facing roles that you might want to think about. There are lots of things happening behind the scenes too, in labs, admin, managerial roles and more.

Social and Community Work

Working within the community in other ways can also be very rewarding. You might want to consider various social work roles, from working with young people to elderly care, working with disabled people or helping people with addictions. There are many areas you could find rewarding.

Education

Working in education doesn’t necessarily mean working with children or in a school. You could do anything from teaching adult education classes to working in an educational role for a community project or charity. Teaching anyone something new and valuable can be very rewarding work.

Nonprofit

The nonprofit sector offers many opportunities to carry out rewarding work in lots of different roles. You might already have some valuable skills from working in a corporate environment that you can apply to a nonprofit role. You can also discover some new roles that are more nonprofit focused that you might not find elsewhere.
